The best version of a chore is one you stop doing. Link a vehicle to its Bluetooth once and the drives arrive on their own.
- Automatic trip detection. Triply starts a trip when your car's Bluetooth connects and ends it when it disconnects. Pair your stereo or hands-free kit to a vehicle once and it keeps working.
- Smart distance tracking. The drive is measured by GPS and the closing reading is worked out for you.
- Finished drives wait for you. They sit in your list until you swipe them business or personal, so nothing is guessed on your behalf.
Why Bluetooth and not motion detection
Motion sensing cannot tell driving your own car from riding in someone else's, and it drains a battery watching for something that happens twice a day. Your car's Bluetooth is a signal that means exactly one thing: this car, now.
The record

Whole kilometres
Odometer readings are recorded as whole kilometres, the way the dashboard shows them and the way a logbook is expected to read.
Gap detection
When one trip's closing reading and the next trip's opening reading do not meet, Triply says so, while you can still remember what happened in between.
Drafts stay out
An unfinished drive is excluded from the export until you complete it, so a half-logged trip cannot quietly break a year's total.

Filter before you export
By date range, by vehicle, or by trip type. A tax year, one car, business only, in three taps.
CSV or PDF

Your vehicles
Add a car by pointing your camera at it.
The barcode on a South African licence disc already holds the registration, make, model and VIN. There is no reason to type them.
- Scan the licence disc and the vehicle is added in seconds, with no typos in a registration number you will later have to explain.
- As many vehicles as you need, on the free plan, each with its own separate logbook.
- A reminder before a disc expires, which is the one piece of admin this app can save you a fine on.

A logbook fails quietly. You skip a week, then you cannot remember the week, then the year is not worth submitting. These exist to stop that first week.
Live trip notification
A notification stays up while a trip is recording, so you never find out at the end of the day that it was not.

A reminder before the disc on any of your vehicles runs out.

Your data
Kept on your phone. Locked before it leaves it.
A year of trips is a detailed record of where you go and when. It is worth treating that way.
- Stored on your phone, which is why logging a drive works with no signal at all.
- Save a copy to a file you keep, free on every plan, and restore from it whenever you like — including after a Premium subscription ends.
- Cloud backup is end-to-end encrypted and scheduled. It is locked on your phone with a key Triply never receives, so nobody here can read your trips. You keep a recovery code.
- Your last five backups are kept, so a bad restore is not a one-way door.
- Delete it yourself. Remove your cloud backup, or your entire account, from inside the app or from this website.
What a recovery code means
End-to-end encryption cuts both ways. Because we hold no key, we cannot recover a backup for you if you lose both your phone and your recovery code. Keep the code somewhere that is not the phone.
